To the girl that I loved

To the girl that I loved
In our time together
You taught me
To live
To not just exist, but coexist
To be vulnerable, with the people who love me
To be vulnerable, because in a relationship, it is in vulnerability that we find happiness
To be kind, even when the universe is not kind to me
To be patient, because we get what we give
To dream, because it is in dreaming that we find our purpose
To believe, in miracles, in fate, in karma
To be different, because to make a difference, you have to be the difference.
To embrace life as it is, because the universe gives us only as much as we can handle.
To be the best version of myself for the world, for me.
You inspire me, in more ways than one
To be who I am, with no regrets
Loving you, taught me to love me.

An allegory

At first
It feels strange, unfamiliar, different
It's like a new phase.
Then it sets in.
You get used to it.
Today. Tomorrow. The next day.
You can't imagine life without it.
You stop appreciating it.
It's just another routine.
But one day,
suddenly
It's gone.
And you realize It's something you need.
You feel It's absence affecting you and you can do anything to get It back.
You try to deny the need, the pain, the obsession.
You even try replacing It.
But deep inside you know nothing can take It's place.
In the end you are compelled to accept the truth and move on.

"There is no such thing as a happy ending.
But that doesn't mean you have to give up on a happy middle."

"Everyone is insecure.
What others see is how much you let that insecurity affect you."

Being Beautiful

Anorexia, Bulimia, eating disorders, all come into existence when we talk about being beautiful.
But who decides the definition of beauty?

Who sets the standards?

Who do small girls and boys look up to?
We all have an standardized image of beauty in our minds, but what we don't realize is when we standardize beauty, it gives way to insecurity.

Being beautiful.

It may just be a phrase to you, but to the affected, these two words address a thousand insecurities.

Seek to Impress

Most of us care too much about what the other person will think.
People say this will cease to exist once we grow up.
But even after we grow up, become mature, there's a small part of us that still seeks approval, still works to impress.
And that can never go away.
What matters is how big we let that part be.
How close we let it come to our souls.

Epiphanies

What is an epiphany?
It is essentially a moment of great and sudden realization.
All of us live our lives anticipating an epiphany that will change our lives forever.
Granted, I haven't had that epiphany yet.
In anticipation of this Great Epiphany, I am writing this to share with the world all the other little ones I have on the way.

My epiphanies. My theories of the world.
